‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Jed Wyatt’s Ex Haley Stevens Has ‘Thought About’ Hannah Brown ‘Every Single Day’
It was heartbreaking to watch Bachelorette star Hannah Brown and Jed Wyatt break up after he lied to her about the extent of his relationship with his ex Haley Stevens. The reality couple got engaged during the finale but announced that they officially split during After the Final Rose on July 30. Haley recently dished about the weight she’s been carrying after revealing the news that crushed the beauty queen’s heart.
“I have thought about her every single day about how this must have affected her,” Haley told E! in an interview published on July 31. “It was heartbreaking for me and I can’t imagine how heartbreaking it is for her.” While she does think Jed should take responsibility for his actions, she also feels remorseful for “not fully understanding the emotions that were going to go into this show.”
Haley came forward in June and revealed that she and the Nashville musician were still dating when he left for the show. He told her that he was only going on to promote his music and they had planned on staying together through it all. “We talked about it like it was a movie like these are characters. Because I didn’t even know who it was going to be it didn’t even seem real,” Haley explained exclusively to Life & Style about their supposed arrangement before he left. “Now, in hindsight, I’ve seen clips and Hannah is so genuine and sincere. If I could have seen this person that I’m seeing now and how much of her heart she is putting into this show — and into these guys and the process — it could have been a different ball game.” She added, “He was always so reassuring. He told me, it’s not real. It’s acting.”
Hannah is moving on with her life. On After the Final Rose, Jed tried to give his side of the story of why he didn’t come clean about his ex earlier. “I was acting out of fear instead [of] out of love and respect for you. I was scared to lose you. I felt like I had closure on my part. I can now see it wasn’t on other people’s parts, but I held out because I was scared to lose you,” he said. “My love for you will never leave me.”
The Alabama beauty did not feel the same. “I am not trying to punish you but my feelings have changed. I think when that trust was broken, my feelings really just were broke with that and I don’t love you like that anymore,” she admitted.
What’s next for Hannah? Haley hopes there’s no saltiness and said, “I would be so open to talking to her or grabbing a drink with her. It’s definitely the ball is in her court.” The former beauty queen recently moved to Los Angeles and is feeling stronger than ever.
