Kim Kardashian Has a Message for Anyone Who Has a Problem With North West’s Straight Hair
Another day, another Kim Kardashian controversy! On July 24, the mother-of-three was once again under attack for straightening her five-year-old daughter’s naturally curly hair. The Mommy Police was up in arms after Kim took to Instagram to share an adorable snapshot of North West giving her smiling daddy, Kanye West, a kiss on the cheek. As it turns out, however, Kim had a perfectly valid explanation for North’s ‘do.
“She is allowed [to straighten her hair] twice a year on her birthday and birthday party! This pic was taken back in June on her b-day,” the KKW Beauty mogul explained on Twitter.
Her message was in response to a hater who tried to warn Kim against damaging her daughter’s hair. “Don’t straighten her hair too much, it’ll ruin her curls! I did that to my hair and ruined it. I’m finally getting my natural curly hair back,” they wrote.
Sadly, this is the second time in recent weeks that Kim has been forced to defend her parenting choices. According to BuzzFeed, Kim addressed North’s straight hair immediately following her fifth birthday — where she donned a sleek high ponytail.
“She wanted to try straight hair so I said she could try it for her birthday party and then if she liked it, she could do it in New York for her birthday,” Kim began. “It’s very limited to just that. And she knows that. I think everyone thought it was this crazy pressed thing — I mean, I just used a flat iron and everyone was saying she was wearing extensions and I was like, ‘No, she has curly hair, so that’s what the length of her hair is when it’s straightened,'” the KUWTK star continued.
“I was just seeing these things that [people were saying] online and they were just ridiculous,” she concluded. Well, there you have it, people! Kim has made it clear not once, but twice, that her little girl’s hair is going to be just fine.
Here’s hoping that North continues to embrace her natural look but also feels comfortable experimenting with new styles — just like her extended KarJenner family.
