Not everyone in YouTube-land believes in this holy “cloutrimony,” y’all. Vlog star David Dobrik caught up with Life & Style at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event on August 6 — and needless to say, he couldn’t help but mention his perspective on Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul‘s marriage. Will their supposed connection go the distance? The 23-year-old isn’t so sure.

“I’m happy for them. I was just mentioning earlier that I don’t think it’s going to last, but I want them to prove me wrong,” the former Vine star explained to LS exclusively. “They are a good fit for each other. They both, um, they both love making videos. So it’s perfect.”

Why does the comedian think his two fellow vloggers won’t do so well in the world of marriage? Well, it turns out he was actually married for a short time himself — and he didn’t exactly find it to be easy.

“Because marriage is tough,” he said of why he didn’t think the married couple would make it. “I didn’t myself, I was married for a month and I couldn’t do it, so I know how hard it is and I don’t think they have it in them.”

David married friend and fellow YouTuber Jason Nash‘s mom, Lorraine Nash, back in May … for the vlog, obviously. Though the marriage was legal, he and Lorraine, 75, ended their union in June after a month together.

Prior to his elaborate stunt, er, love with Lorraine, David started dating YouTube star Liza Koshy in 2015 and revealed their breakup in June 2018. However, the two digital personalities have remained close pals and regularly show up on each other’s social media.

In any case, David didn’t attend Tana and Jake’s nuptials, so he didn’t get a chance to see the duo all loved up throughout the night. Maybe that would have changed his mind. Oh, who are we kidding? He probably knows those two clout-chasers better than most.
