David Dobrik Isn’t Convinced Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul Are Engaged: ‘She Was Hardcore Hitting on Me’
Spill that tea, David Dobrik! The popular influencer, 22, recently sat down with J-14 to discuss his favorite memories with fellow YouTubers. First up, was Miss Tana Mongeau. “Tana’s the best, she just got engaged. I recently also went through an engagement … it’s not fun, it’s not worth it,” David joked of his one-month marriage to Jason Nash’s mom, Lorraine Nash.
“Ummm, it’s a lot of work to keep up with it and I really wish you the best,” he continued. Pretty sweet, right? Well, here’s the kicker: “See, I don’t know if Tana is actually engaged. I was with Tana a couple of days ago and she was, like, hardcore hitting on me.”
Considering David is hilarious and adorable, we wouldn’t blame Tana, 21, if she made a move … except for the fact she’s supposed to be tying the knot with Jake Paul.
Since the controversial pair announced their engagement on June 24, both Tana and Jake, 22, have assured fans everywhere that their relationship is the real deal. They even took engagement photos! “Doin’ something real extra today,” Tana captioned a Boomerang photo of herself on the day of the couple’s photo shoot.
“Should we tell them what we’re doing?” Tana asked Jake in the second video. “Is it a secret?” He shook his head no and said, “We’re taking engagement photos!” The next image on Tana’s stories was an adorable Boomerang of her fiancé holding a sign that read, “Mr. & Mrs. Paul,” with two hearts next to it.
In one of the hearts, you can clearly see the word “clout,” which could totally mean that Jake and Tana — affectionately shipped as “Jana” — may just be doing this for publicity. To be fair, though, Tana’s MTV reality TV show just aired on July 8. She definitely doesn’t need to marry Jake for more fame … she’s got that on her own!
Sigh. Does anyone else have major influencer whiplash right now? At the end of the day, Tana and Jake seem happy together and that’s all that matters. However, if David wasn’t just kidding, we totally think that he and Tana would look good together. *Wink, wink.*
