It’s her birthday and she’ll stay home if she wants to! Kate Middleton is reportedly keeping it low-key as she celebrates her 37th year on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the Duchess of Cambridge is treating her birthday like any other day. “Kate is at Kensington Palace. It’s just a quiet, ordinary day — with school drop-offs and pick-ups and spending time with the children,” said the royal insider.

On the other hand, Prince William started his day by paying a visit to the Royal London Hospital. Despite the fact that Kate isn’t doing much to celebrate, she’s still getting lots of love. During William’s solo engagement, children at the hospital made a card for Kate, which the Duke happily accepted on her behalf. “Well done for remembering. I did remember this morning, so that was OK!” he told them.

After he met with the hospital staff to learn about the ins and outs of being a first responder, the Duke returned home to his wife to spend time together. “It will be a quiet evening at home celebrating with family,” added the source. This doesn’t come as a total surprise since for Kate’s birthday last year, the royal couple also stayed at Kensington Palace. However, she was pregnant with their third child, Prince Louis, at the time. Now, she’ll be celebrating with all three of her children — Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Louis, 8 months.

Earlier this week, the mom-of-three and William made their first royal appearance of 2019. The royal couple attended Sunday service at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on Sunday, Jan. 6. The Duchess looked happy and vibrant, which is a great sign considering there have been many rumors she and Meghan Markle don’t get along all the time.

Hopefully that’s an indication for how Kate will be spending her day — smiling!
