New ink, who dis? Selena Gomez unveiled her new upper thigh tattoo of prayer hands holding a rosary before the 2019 American Music Awards on November 24. The songstress not only attended the swanky event but opened the show with a performance of her two new songs, “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now.”
The 27-year-old is no stranger to getting inked, but she usually opts for tiny tats. Her latest black-and-white art — which sits on her leg close to her left hip — is a pretty impressive size compared to her others.
The former Wizards of Waverly Place actress also has a semi-colon on her forearm that was inspired by the charity Project Semicolon — an organization focused on helping people battle mental health issues. She also got a tiny “1” on her ribcage with her close pal Courtney Barry. In addition, the artist has “love yourself first” written on her back in Arabic. Most recently, she and Julia Michaels got matching arrows on their wrists.
Selena was seriously looking better than ever during the November 24 awards show. She walked the red carpet in a neon green silk minidress with matching pumps and diamond necklaces. Her brunette locks were worn in a short bob and the songstress was absolutely glowing.
The AMAs are a unique award show because it’s mostly based on fan votes. The Spring Breakers actress took to Instagram after the event to gush over her loyal followers. “Feels good to be back,” she began the caption, referring to the long break she took from the spotlight. “Thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me. All of this is for you and because of you. Excited for this chapter.”
She seems to be in a great place these days — and surrounded by even better friends. During her AMAs performance, Taylor Swift and Halsey were fangirling so hard over their pal while watching from the audience. The ladies danced, screamed and thoroughly cheered on Selena while she did her thing on stage.
It was great to see the starlet back in full force. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
