Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul Ask Fans to ‘Believe’ They’re Engaged While Filming ‘Tana Turns 21’
They’re really trying to convince us, aren’t they? YouTuber Tana Mongeau and her clout-BF-turned-fiancé, Jake Paul, took to Instagram to ask fans and followers to “believe” in their relationship … after constantly joking the whole relationship was for influence anyway.
“Hey Jake, this Instagram Story is for people who think we’re not actually engaged,” the blonde beauty turned to her supposed fiancé, 22, before he chimed in with some unintelligible Jake-ism that made Tana crack up. “We’re engaged!!” she exclaimed. “Believe us, please!”
In Jake’s version of the IG Story, he made sure to point out that the Story they shot was also being professionally filmed for Tana’s new MTV reality show, Tana Turns 21. “MTV,” he giggled with the 21-year-old babe as he zoomed in and out on the phone and the camera men surrounding them.
How did this relationship go from zero to sixty, you might be wondering? It all started when Tana posted a video to her channel titled “Mukbang in Bed With My Rebound Jake Paul” on April 30, which pretty much entirely played into the potential that the duo might try to (at the very least) hook up.
The couple went on a first date the following week (and obviously documented it for YouTube) and have been sort of inseparable ever since. They’ve been showing up on each other’s social media constantly and making all kinds of relationship jokes to make fans question the sincerity of their actions.
Then, on June 24, Tana revealed that Jake proposed to her on her birthday. “JAKE JUST PROPOSED,” Tana tweeted super late at night. “I’m……. engaged………………”
The dynamic duo taking the next step in the relationship comes as a bit of a shock to fans and followers since they haven’t been dating that long. Plus, Tana explicitly spoke about her aversion to monogamy during the aftermath of her split with Brad Souza.
Either way, we can’t wait to see what this couple thinks up next — real or not.
