Despite their differences, Nicki Minaj isn’t afraid of showing Mariah Carey some love.
On Wednesday night’s “Diva” themed American Idol, Top 5 finalist Candice Glover performed Mariah and the late Whitney Houston’s hit “When You Believe” — and Nicki had nothing but positive things to say after Candice finished.

“That is how you do a Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston song,” she told the hopeful, adding she used to cry listening to that song as a little girl because she believed every word Mariah was singing.
Earlier in the night, however, the two divas came to blows over Kree Harrison’s performance of “She Talks to Angels” by The Black Crowes — making it the first time the pair have conversed since live shows began in March.
When Mariah said she felt like the aspiring singer was holding back, the "Super Bass" singer firmly disagreed with her critique.
“That was the best performance of the night, by far,” she said.

Mariah then chimed in, “You don’t really disagree with me…” — Nicki said she did and would explain why.
“I disagree with your disagreement,” the legendary songstress said — and in typical Nicki fashion, she replied, “Simmer down, sir.”
With four weeks left, there’s bound to be even more drama (maybe even a little more love???) between this duo.
