SNL star Pete Davidson has always been open about his mental health issues, including a recent reveal on Instagram about how his breakup with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande affected his mental wellbeing. Now, on Dec. 15, he made another cryptic post on Instagram, hinting that he’s been contemplating suicide, before deleting his Instagram altogether. Ariana’s close pal and collaborator Nicki Minaj took to social media following Pete’s post and had some strong words for those knocking his cries for help.

“We can be so insensitive,” Nicki wrote on Twitter following Pete’s post. “God bless Kanye [and] Pete. Being flippant about mental illness speaks more about you than them. Stop saying the word love [and] live it. Love is an action.” We love that not only did Nicki throw down for Pete, but she also came to the defense of rapper Kanye West amid his own mental health struggles that have been front and center recently.

In a second post, she retweeted a fan’s screengrab of Pete’s now-deleted post and added, “Go [and] give this man some love. My God.” While in another post, Nicki got seriously real about how the world treats celebs who are suffering with mental health issues. “Y’all did the same thing to Mac Miller until he died. The #FakeBandWagonHate,” she wrote of Ariana’s other ex, who recently passed away from an apparent overdose.

Pete recently took to social media to share a note describing an incredibly low moment he was experiencing. “I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore. I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so ❤️,” the 25-year-old wrote in a now-deleted post on his Instagram, where he seems to be contemplating suicide.

We applaud Nicki for being loud in support of her friends who are suffering right now. Sometimes, you just need someone to be your voice. Thanks, Nicki.
