The nausea is real, y’all. Comedian Amy Schumer announced she was pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband Chris Fischer back in October and naturally, she’s been using her pregnancy as a new way to bring her comedy to the masses. But lately, her pregnancy has taken a less comedic turn, and she has been taking to social media quite often to share the symptoms of her complicated pregnancy.

“Hi, I thought it might be fun to see me throwing up in a public bathroom,” Amy said to fans and followers in a video posted to her Instagram on Dec. 8, where she set up the camera so everyone can see her literally unload her guts into the toilet just before musing, “I might be able to fight it off.” But nope, she gets down on her knees and lets it loose. Poor girl.

“Deep in my second trimester and all I can say is nope! Yesterday I did a show 90 minutes later,” She captioned the candid video and even threw in a few (slightly sarcastic) hashtags: #soblessed, #godsmiracle, and our personal fave, #lepainbathroom. We love seeing Amy get real about her complicated pregnancy, and also how excited she is to be a mom — but it’s hard to not seriously feel for her right now.

Amy recently announced that she would be pulling back from her stand-up tour, as her hyperemesis diagnosis is more manageable for her. Hyperemesis is a pregnancy complication that is characterized by severe nausea, which has had Amy hospitalized and throwing up in the back of tour buses. All in all, it hasn’t been a great time for the 37-year-old new mama. But she has been taking it in stride and using her classic wit to make the most of it.

Let’s hope the third trimester is a little more chill for this funny gal — even the most hilarious among us need a break every once in a while.
