Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Announce Breakup With Devastating Instagram Message
We so hope this is a late April Fool's joke! Everyone's favorite Hollywood couple stunned fans by announcing their split on April 2. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum took to Instagram with a heartbreaking message about how they're ending their relationship after nine years of marriage.
In the devastating message, they admitted that it "feels weird" to make such a personal announcement, but felt it was necessary to "share the truth" with fans. "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," they wrote. "Love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on separate paths for now." The pair insists that there's nothing salacious or secret about the split, just "two best friends realizing that it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible."
The couple shares a four-year-old daughter named Everly, and they insist that they will continue to be a family and parent her together. They've been very private about their rarely seen daughter, and they've requested that same privacy about their split. The pair has been married for almost nine years, but they've been together since falling in love on the set of the dance flick Step Up in 2006. Now, after a 12-year romance, they've ended it.
The couple didn't mention divorce, and they seem to be leaving a window open for an eventual reunion, so the details of their breakup are unclear. Despite that, fans are basically falling apart. "Let the emotional eating begin… I'm going to need more Oreos," commented one devastated supporter. Another felt the same, writing, "Nooooooo This broke my heart you guys were my fave." Ours too, buddy. We wish them both the best.
