Kaley Cuoco's Dating History: Relationships, Two Marriages

There will be no “third time’s a charm” when it comes to marriage for Kaley Cuoco. The Flight Attendant star is swearing off matrimony forever following her divorce from second husband Karl Cook. The actress has had one other marriage and some high-profile romances with fellow actors.

“I will never get married again,” Kaley told Glamour in April 2022 when appearing on the magazine’s cover. “I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership. But I will never get married again,” she repeated. “Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover.”

Even though she gave marriage several tries, Kaley has had an interesting dating history that has included her Big Bang Theory costar Johnny Galecki and Justice League star Henry Cavill.

The actress’ first marriage to tennis pro Ryan Sweeting came and went in the blink of an eye. They got engaged in September 2013 after just several months of dating and married on New Year’s Eve. Kaley filed for divorce 21 months later, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The blonde beauty was left so soured by the experience that she didn’t want to remarry. “I honestly thought I wouldn’t get married again. My ex ruined that word for me,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2018, “I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn’t my fault — that was his.”

After splitting from Ryan, Kaley began dating fellow equestrian Karl Cook in early 2016. Their mutual interest in horses, equestrian competitions and a love of dogs made them a perfect match. “I couldn’t be happier. I feel very, very lucky that I found someone like him,” Kaley told Us Weekly in September 2017.

Karl proposed to Kaley two months later on November 30, 2017, getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him at home surrounded by their pals on her 32nd birthday. The two wed on June 30, 2018, in horse-themed nuptials on a ranch outside of San Diego, California.

Sadly, there would be no happily ever after with Kaley’s second marriage. She filed for divorce three years later in September 2021.

“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” the former couple said in a joint statement about their split, adding, “We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary.”

The Big Bang Theory costars’ onscreen love became the real thing, as they secretly dated from 2007 through 2009. Even after splitting as a couple, the pair have remained extremely close.

“Johnny is actually one of my best friends. It’s a situation that ended well. I understand sometimes it doesn’t. It could have gone horrible,” she revealed during a September 2015 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, calling her ex “one of my dearest friends.”

Kaley’s romance with the Superman: Man of Steel hunk lasted a mere 10 days in July 2013. They were first spotted going on a hike together on July 2, followed by holding hands while on a grocery store in infamous paparazzi photos. By July 12, their romance was off. Kaley moved on very quickly though!

The couple’s whirlwind romance moved at warp speed. Kaley and tennis pro Ryan moved in together within a month of dating in the summer of 2013 and got engaged three months into their relationship. They wed in a glamorous New Year’s Eve ceremony outside Los Angeles to cap off the year. Kaley and Ryan split 21 months later, and she went on to joke about the speed at which their relationship moved. She later told Variety, “We got married in, like, six seconds.”

The fellow equestrians met at a horse show in 2016, just as Kaley was coming off her divorce from Ryan. Sparks flew and the pair made their first red carpet appearance in September of that year. Karl proposed to Kaley on her 32nd birthday in late 2017, and their pair wed in a gorgeous ceremony in Rancho Santa Fe, California, on June 30, 2018.

Despite their loving and goofy Instagram posts, the couple’s marriage wasn’t as strong as it seemed. Their pair even made reference to how open they had been with their romance while announcing their split in September 2021 after Kaley filed for divorce. Following her divorce from Karl, Kaley moved on with actor Tom Pelphrey. The pair met through their mutual manager at the premiere of Ozark, Kaley told Entertainment Tonight in September 2022. “I went inside, I was so excited,” she told the outlet. “We met there – and it was love at first sight.”
She and the Netflix star made their relationship Instagram official in May 2022. In October of that same year, the actress announced that she and Tom were gearing up to welcome baby No. 1 together. “Baby girl Pelphrey coming 2023,” she shared via Instagram. “Beyond blessed and over the moon.”
