OMGKaty Perry and Taylor End Their Longtime Feud in ‘You Need to Calm Down’ Music Video

The end of a shady era. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry ended their longstanding feud in the “You Need to Calm Down” music video that was released on Monday, June 17. The two pop stars shared a sweet hug to close out the bright and colorful video while dressed as a burger and fries.

The ladies can be seen in the super fun video dressed as our favorite fast food items as they lock eyes across the room and slowly walk towards each other. It’s a happy ending as they share an adorable embrace and slow dance. Surpringsly, Katy, 34, was also spotted during the 2019 Met Gala in a burger costume, which means the sesame seed-studded look is officially her mood this year. Their feud began back in 2014 over a dispute about back up dancers and it prompted Taylor to write the song “Bad Blood.”

The 29-year-old wanted to spread the word that “stressin’ and obsessin’ about somebody else is no fun.” There was a slew of celebrities featured in the video like the cast of Queer Eye, Ryan Reynolds, Ellen DeGeneres and Laverne Cox. Fans were shook when Taylor tweeted to “Stan/support/follow” everyone in the video, including the “Dark Horse” singer.

“Taylor tagging Katy is something we ALL need in 2019,” one person responded. “Katy Perry is there OMG,” another follower exclaimed while someone else added, “KATY FREAKING PERRY YESSSSS.” Taylor and Katy have been teasing a reunion for the past few weeks. On June 11, they seemingly rekindled their relationship over a plate of cookies that read “Peace at Last.” Before that, the “Into the Woods” artist added Katy’s song “Never Really Over” in her Apple Music “ME!” playlist.

The true message of the video was all about supporting the LGBTQ+ community. A typed sentence at the end of the video read, “Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally. Please sign my petition for Senate support of the Equality Act on Change.org.” Overall, Taylor’s newest song is amazing and supports an important cause.

Keep spreading positivity, you two!
