Back off! Shay Mitchell slammed mommy-shamers on Instagram who accused her of going to Drake‘s birthday party “three days” after giving birth to her daughter, whom she shares with boyfriend Matte Babel. On October 29, she showed off a few negative comments she received, which were extremely rude and hurtful. However, the Pretty Little Liars alum seems to have a great sense of humor about this new chapter in her life.

“I haven’t been really checking my comments that often, but apparently people are really upset that I left three days after having a kid to go out and party,” the 32-year old explained on her Instagram Story to accompany a video of her scrolling through her social media. “It wasn’t three days and she was with [my dog] Angel, so … ”

Obviously, Shay and her 39-year-old beau did not leave their precious newborn in the caring arms of her pup, but she’s already mastered the mom clap back. The actress shared a YouTube video of her 33-hour-long labor on October 20. The newly minted parents then attended the party for the “God’s Plan” artist on October 23. Basically, it’s safe to say that the day she shared the video wasn’t actually the day their daughter arrived.

However, the comments that Shay previewed on her IG Story definitely make it seem like fans thought she went from her hospital bed to the dance floor. “Wait. So you literally just had her and you’re more worried about clubbing with Drake? Wooow,” one person wrote. Another person added, “Mother of the year award right here!!!! As if you seriously could leave your baby to go party?!!! I hope the child’s aid look into this and your abilities to be a good parent cause damn!!! Lacking some serious skills there sweety [sic]! #selfish.”

The You actress isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. She responded to haters in the comments on a photo of her newborn’s hand. The snapshot was captioned, “Never letting go.” Someone sneered, “Except when there’s a party to go to, right?! Disgusting … leaving your newborn only days after her birth.” The Canadian starlet cleared the air and snapped back, “Days? LOL honey, just because I posted on that day doesn’t mean she was born on that day.”

While mommy-shaming is not OK, it seems like Shay can take care of herself!
