It's been almost one year since Shannen Doherty happily announced she was in remission following her two-year battle with breast cancer. However, the former 90210 actress just took to Instagram to share a not-so-good health update. After having a series of tests done, the results showed high readings for a tumor marker — but she is still in remission, that hasn't changed.

She captioned her now deleted selfie, "Test and results. One tumor marker test came back good. Other… elevated. Just means I get monitored and another test. But even after that call, I'm staying positive and taking stock of my life. It certainly helps put things in perspective and reminds you of what you learned [through] the cancer journey. And I sometimes, need a refresher. As I've said before, cancer changes your life in ways no one could ever imagine…..btw, the elevation can be from all sorts of things. Oh, and vitamin D… need more of that too. #stillacancerslayer."

After getting fans super worried, Shannen took to social media again to explain things a little bit better. She said, "Slightly elevated tumor marker. I spoke to my doctor this morning who was not the one who gave me the results yesterday and my pet scan is all clear so I am still in remission…I didn't realize a lot about tumor markers at the time that I posted yesterday but the test that came back slightly elevated is one that is not even specific to my cancer, it's one that tends to be a little bit more erratic because it can be impacted by all sorts of things."

Hours before Shannen shared the initial message about her elevated readings, she posted a pic alongside her mom who was getting a bone density scan and ironically, the 46-year-old explained how there is "always anxiety" when it comes to these follow-up exams. She said, "Reoccurrences happen. And I can't imagine how it must feel to beat back cancer only to have it return again. For now, I stay positive, stay healthy and do what I can to help promote research so that cancer can be beaten once and for all. I'll keep you posted on my results."

Breast Cancer Awareness month. This image is so personal to me. I had started chemo. Was using a cold cap in hope to not lose my hair. End result was clumps in my hands. I was sick, felt like I was losing myself. Gained people and lost people. Got weak and got strong. Felt ugly and yet more beautiful inside than I had ever felt before. I remember this like it was yesterday, like it was a minute ago. Cancer has so many phases. Shock, denial, acceptance, anger, resentment, rebellion, fear, appreciation, beauty. Remission. Even then, the phases keep coming. Cancer is with you forever. Those who have experienced it know that even after you’ve kicked it’s ass, it still impacts you, in good ways and bad. You still go thru the roller coaster of emotions. You still need support and love. And you can still grasp life and live, live live. #cancer #cancerslayer

Despite the new obstacle, Shannen is not only staying positive but keeping her sense of humor — like she's done throughout the entirety of this journey. Not only has she bravely documented the loss of her iconic brunette hair, but also her chemotherapy treatments and all of the raw emotions that come with battling this disease.

And in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October 2017, Shannen shared this photo above. She wrote, "Breast Cancer Awareness month. This image is so personal to me. I had started chemo.
