It’s almost time for Christina Anstead to give birth, and she’s making sure she’s prepared for the big day — which includes having a C-section. The 36-year-old took to Instagram on Friday, August 30, to reveal that based on her past experience with her son, Brayden, this is the best option for a successful delivery.

“Well … Here we go @ant_anstead … our world is about to get rocked — in all the best ways, of course,” she wrote, referring to her first child with her husband, Ant Anstead. “One week until my scheduled c-section. I chose to do this because I had an emergency c-section with Brayden and the whole experience and recovery was really hard on me physically and emotionally.”

Well…. Here we go @ant_anstead … our world is about to get rocked – in all the best ways of course. 👶🏻 One week until my scheduled c-section. I chose to do this because I had an emergency c-section with Brayden and the whole experience and recovery was really hard on me physically and emotionally. I really don’t feel comfortable trying to go down that route again. Bray was 8lbs 13oz – after pushing for hours and hours – he was just stuck and his heart rate was dropping. Based on ultrasound measurements we think this is going to be another big boy so this is the direction we’ve decided to take. The nursery is ready, the kids are back in school, I’m not sleeping, irritable and uncomfortable. I’m definitely ready to be done and to meet our little man. One week countdown 🙌🏼🎉

The Christina on the Coast star noted that she’s not exactly excited about the C-section itself but believes it’s the safest choice. “I really don’t feel comfortable trying to go down that route again. Bray was 8lbs 13oz. After pushing for hours and hours, he was just stuck, and his heart rate was dropping.”

She continued, “Based on ultrasound measurements we think this is going to be another big boy so this is the direction we’ve decided to take.

The blonde beauty will soon be a mother of three children. She shares her son, Brayden, 3, and her daughter, Taylor, 8, with her ex-husband and Flip or Flop costar, Tarek El Moussa. Christina and Tarek, 38, may have broken up in 2016, but they still have plenty of respect for each other. He even plans on being in Christina and Ant’s baby’s life once he’s born. Talk about major blended family goals!
