Celebrities Pay Tribute to Aaron Carter After His Death: Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, More

“My heart goes out to his family, and may he rest in peace,” the Mean Girls star Entertainment Tonight on November 7, adding, “And God bless him … And yeah, just [a] lot of love there.”

In a separate interview with Access Hollywood, the Falling for Christmas star said she had “So many (memories) from when I was so young, just that era of my life,” and that it had been a “long time” since the two last spoke.

Hilary Duff

“For Aaron — I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you, and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world,” Duff wrote in a note across a black background that she shared via Instagram. “You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent … boy, did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy.”

Melanie Martin

Carter’s on-and-off love, Martin, wrote, “My baby, I can’t breathe,” across a photo of her sharing a kiss with Carter.

Martin also released a statement to the Associated Press: “We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

Christy Carlson Romano

The former Even Stevens actress shared a statement via Twitter hours after Carter’s death was confirmed.

“Incredibly sad about the passing of Aaron Carter,” Romano tweeted. “My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.”

Diane Warren

Songwriter Diane Warren reacted to the news via Twitter, writing, “Fame at a young age is often more a curse than a blessing, and surviving it is not easy. RIP, Aaron Carter.”

Tyler Hilton

The One Tree Hill actor, who worked with Carter on the 2019 Pop2K tour, called the news “heartbreaking” in a statement he shared via Twitter.

“This kid had such a spark,” Hilton tweeted. “Known him for years and always really liked him. He was warm and really funny. Loved putting on a show, and he was good at it. I’ll find some pics of us and post more later … damn RIP budddd [sic].”

Lina Valentina

Carter’s ex-girlfriend, Lina Valentina, wrote a lengthy statement via her Instagram Stories. The two went public with their past romance in September 2018, and they split in August 2019.

“Aaron, I’ve mourned the loss of you a few days before we broke up,” Valentina wrote. “We’ve both cried our eyes out because your addiction won, and we both knew it. For the last few years now, I knew that any day now, I’d be writing this. … We’ve explored every corner of this world together. We fought, we’ve laughed, we’ve taught each other new things, we’ve spent so much time with our families together.”

She continued, “Aaron, I will forever cherish our conversation when you were sober, and confessions about inner demons, your family, and I love you so much even though you and I have parted. Your twin sister has become such a close friend to me. … Even broken up, you’d always tell me you’d find me one day, and if you die, you’d find me. You can rest now, Aaron. I’m wishing you so much peace. You’re absolutely in a much better place than you have been the last couple of years. Until we meet again.”

Carter’s twin sister, Angel, released a statement via Instagram.

“To my twin … I loved you beyond measure,” she began. “You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them.”

Nick Carter

The “I Want It That Way” singer said his “heart” was “broken” on Sunday, November 6, following his brother’s death.

“Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” Nick’s statement began via Instagram. “I have always held onto the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes, we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you, Chizz. Now, you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth … God, Please take care of my baby brother.”

New Kids on The Block

The ‘80s boy band shared their respects via their official Instagram page.

“We are shocked and saddened about the sudden passing of Aaron Carter,” the band’s social media page shared on November 5. “Sending prayers to the Carter family. Rest in peace, Aaron.”

Melissa Joan Hart

The ‘90s star shared a statement via her Instagram following the news of Carter’s death. Carter famously made a cameo on the hit series Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the early 2000s. 

“Sending love to the family and friends and fans of Aaron Carter,” the actress wrote alongside a throwback picture via Instagram. “Rest in peace!”

Paris Hilton

“Sad to hear about the news of Aaron Carter. He was always kind to my family and I,” the heiress shared via Twitter on November 6. “He had a good heart. Gone way too soon. Sending my thoughts and condolences to his loved ones and family. RIP.”
