Ellen DeGeneres Encourages Blake Shelton to Propose to Gwen Stefani With Hilarious Gift: ‘The Clock Is Ticking’
Everyone is rooting for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to get married, including Ellen DeGeneres. During the country star’s appearance on The Ellen Show on Wednesday, May 1, the talk show host, 61, gifted him a clock with a photo of him and Gwen kissing as a way to encourage them to finally tie the knot.
“So Jennifer Lopez was here and I wanted to help her out with A-Rod, because she wanted to marry him, obviously like Gwen wants to marry you,” the talk show host, 61, confessed to Blake, before revealing why she thinks this is an ideal gift. “And I gave her a clock that she could give to him, like the clock is ticking, time is passing. I gave her the clock, and literally like a week later he proposed to her.” Makes sense!
“So Mother’s Day is coming up, I have something for you to give her,” she added right before presenting him with the lovely and hilarious gesture. “So you’re saying, this is my … There’s a chance she’s going to ask me to marry her, you’re saying with this clock,” Blake jokingly said as he accepted the clock. “Yeah, I flipped it around and put it on her,” he added.
“Now that she knows you’re waiting for her to ask … now that she sees this, she’ll ask you. I’ll call her tonight,” the comedian concluded. The pressure is on Gwen!
The couple has been dating for over nearly three years, and while they aren’t currently rushing to get married, they seem to be doing great, according to a source who exclusively spoke to Life & Style.
“[They] are in a great place and act like loved-up teenagers, it’s so cute! Their nights out together really help keep the relationship alive,” the insider revealed. Aw, how can we not love these two!
