Gigi Hadid’s Runway Walk Criticized Even Though She’s Dominating Fashion Week
Is it true that a model’s only as good as her runway walk? Not necessarily. Gigi Hadid, who’s been criticized in the past over her strut, was booking gigs left and right despite her lackluster display on the catwalk.
But the 22-year-old, who’s appeared in shows for designers such as Tom Ford, Balmain, and Victoria’s Secret, is the first to defend herself against haters. See her hotly-debated stride in the video below!
“I’m flat-footed, and I pretty much have a forced arch in my foot from playing volleyball my whole life,” the stunner, who’s of Dutch and Palestinian descent, said in May. “In the last six months, my walk has really improved because I’ve started to learn how to pad my shoes correctly to support my feet. It’s like you learn little tricks, and you focus on those.”
She added in a different interview, “Obviously I’m not the best on the runway. But what do you do? When you’re the face of a brand you show up to the show.” Hey, it’s harder than it looks!
