‘Jersey Shore’ Star Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley Updates Fans On Her 2-Year-Old Son’s Speech Delay
They’re staying strong! During the premiere of Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 2, Jenni “JWoww” Farley revealed that her two-year-old son, Greyson Matthews, still isn’t able to speak. According to KidsHealth.org, “Most toddlers can say about 20 words by the time they’re 18 months old.”
Despite the fact that Jenni was hesitant to open up about her child’s developmental struggles, she has received an overwhelming outpouring of love and support ever since. So much so, that the 32-year-old took to her YouTube channel on Sept. 10 to update all of her loving fans on Greyson’s journey.
“I don’t know if I would even call it a struggle because Greyson is still perfect to me,” Jenni explained. “But it’s something as a mom and a parent I’m going through and a lot of parents go through. Actually, I know a lot of parents go through it.”
Not only is Jenni doing everything she can to better the quality of her own son’s life, but the lives of children everywhere suffering from similar issues. She’s all about keeping the conversation going! “I didn’t want you guys to just see on Jersey Shore, ‘Oh, her son is in early intervention.’ He is speech delayed,” the reality star continued.
“I think sharing stories and educating each other is one of the best way to break the stigma when it comes to your child hitting developmental parts and on the chart. We just want the best for our kids. It’s going to be okay, regardless of the situation.”
The first time Jenni took to social media to open up about Greyson’s diagnosis, she revealed that her baby boy, who she shares with her longtime hubby, Roger Matthews, is still in therapy “three times a week” but that he’s “doing a lot better.” She also changed his diet, removed preservatives, and “had almost every test done you can think of.”
As it stands, Greyson remains in therapy and JWoww continues to exhaust every resource she can. “I don’t sleep at night because I’m googling like a maniac everything and anything that is going to help Greyson,” Jenni admitted. “I don’t want it to just be on Jersey Shore for two minutes and be done. I want it to be information going and keep the conversation going.” You’re an amazing mom, Jenni! We’re wishing little Greyson nothing but the best.
