According to US Weekly, the duke “feels powerless” to help his wife. “It has put pressure on her relationship with Harry. He’s very frustrated with how little can be done. Keeping her away from the negativity and harm has been hard for him. It’s been his purpose in their relationship to keep her away from the negativity,” a source revealed to the outlet. On the bright side, this just goes to show how united and strong the royal couple are. Through it all, it’s evident how supportive and loving they are toward each other and we admire it.
Ever since Meghan and Harry became public with their relationship last year, the duchess’ family, specifically her father, Thomas Markle, and half-sister, Samantha Markle, have teamed up with the press and have basically bashed on the mom-to-be. It also doesn’t help that there’s been rumors and reports from within her royal circle of stories of her feuding with Kate Middleton. While from a public standpoint Meghan chooses to gracefully ignore all the negative attention, it’s bound to take a toll on her as well as on Harry behind the scenes.
In his latest public stunt, Thomas Markle claimed Meghan gave her guests marijuana as a party favor to her first wedding to Trevor Engleson. However, many royal diehards believe he didn’t even attend that wedding, either. He also said Meghan used to give him handwritten notes and claimed the two had a great relationship prior to her royal wedding to Harry, which he claims caused their falling out.
Meanwhile, Samantha is coming out with a tell-all book about her half-sister, which is just adding more fire to the flames. She’s been in the press for publicly apologizing to the duchess, as well as for insulting her, like calling her a “royal ducha–.”
It must be difficult for the royal couple to deal when her family can’t seem to give it a rest. Hopefully Harry and Meghan aren’t being too hard on themselves and can focus on the good things happening in their lives, instead.
