Getting your own heavenly body ain’t all that hard! OK, fine. It’s not exactly easy, even if former Victoria’s Secret angel Adriana Lima makes it seem that way! She sat down with Life & Style magazine to gave us some exclusive tips about how she keeps her body in Angel shape, year in and year out. Honestly, with a little bit of dedication, you might be able to give the brunette beauty a run for her money.
One thing Adriana doesn’t do is skimp on the food. “I actually eat every three hours, six times a day,” Adriana told Life & Style. “I need fuel.” But the 38-year-old vegan makes sure she’s taking in the right types of fuel throughout her day. A typical day of meals might include oatmeal with bananas and raw honey for breakfast and a snack of almonds, honey and coconut flakes. After that, a veggie burger is on the lunch menu. Afternoon snacks might be raw veggies with hummus or rolled oats with almond milk, while zucchini spaghetti with tomato or pesto sauce is on the dinner menu.
When it comes to exercising, the Brazilian native was used to an intense training schedule, you know, since she was walking the runway in wings every year. But even though 2018 was her last as an Angel, she’s still planning to train like one. “I do like three times a week of functional training and three times a week of boxing,” she explained, as well as letting us in on the fact that she gives herself one rest day per week. “Soon I will be implementing Pilates and possibly yoga. I love working out.” She loves breaking a sweat, too –– according to her, it helps your mind, body, and gives you that “natural glow!”
But it’s not always easy to get yourself motivated in the gym. So, what’s Adriana’s secret? Remembering your headphones! “Music is important during a workout to boost your mood,” she explained. Plus, she likes to move to the beat. “I personally like to follow the speed of the music. It’s like dancing for me. Even jumping rope — I jump rope and I do kind of a dance with the rope and the song, whatever is playing.” Could be fun to try next time you’re in the gym, y’all!
Possibly Adriana’s best tip is to try to conquer “new challenges,” because no matter what you accomplish in the gym, each time you do something you haven’t done before you “build confidence.” Well said, Adriana. We’re pretty sure if you follow this Angel’s tips, you’ll be flying with the best in no time.
