What an exciting year for Danielle Fishel!
Not only is she a college graduate and set to reprise her role as Topanga Lawrence in Disney’s Boy Meets World spin-off — but she’s also engaged!
“I am officially a college graduate!” she announced on her official Tumblr page earlier. “I took my last two undergraduate finals today and I am so happy, relieved, and proud. Yeah, I’m super proud of myself. :)”
The 31-year-old goes on to share how nerve-racking it was to make the decision to go back to school four years ago, saying she was afraid of being the “old lady in class, of being whispered about.”
Fortunately, her decision was a great one!
“But I persevered and sometimes I wasn’t the oldest person in class, some of the whisperers became good friends, and I did so well in math, I even became a tutor. And that is how I met my fiancé :),” she reveals.
NEWS: Boy Meets World sequel: Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel confirmed to star
So who is the special guy? Timothy Belusko. The pair have been together for over two years — they attended the 4th annual Point Honors Gala at Raleigh Studios together in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sept. 25, 2010.
And the brunette beauty hasn’t been shy from bragging about her upcoming nuptials. “If I had my way, my wedding reception might just be 3-4 hours of Usher’s music,” she wrote on Dec. 12.
In addition to planning her wedding, she’ll star alongside Ben Savage, who will repise his role as Cory Matthews, in the BMW sequel — Girl Meets World. The duo played sweethearts and ended up getting married on the series.
Danielle confirmed the news in late November on her Tumblr account, saying, “First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome.” That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.”
