Sister Session! Bella Hadid Takes Gigi to an ~Escape Room~ For Her Birthday — Without Zayn Malik
Sisters only, y’all. Model Bella Hadid surprised her sister, Gigi Hadid, with an exciting excursion to an ~escape room~ for her birthday on Tuesday, April 23, and the festivities were clearly missing someone special in the newly minted 24-year-old’s life — her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Zayn Malik.
“B-day update: @bellahadid is taking me somewhere,” G wrote on a cute video posted to her Instagram Stories of herself and her 22-year-old sis in the car together, headed somewhere unknown to the birthday girl at the time of posting. We love a surprise!
Next thing we know, the brunette sister is showing off big gold balloons that read “GIGI,” captioning a second video of the blonde looking around happily with, “Gigi B-day Escape Room.”
It’s hard not to notice Zayn’s absence, not only from the escape room but also from social media, in general, surrounding his longtime love interest‘s birthday. In the past, he’s definitely been the type of boyfriend to get right on Instagram and shout out his bae for making it around the sun another time. This year, the former One Direction member was quiet on his own socials, as well as a total ghost when it came to popping up on G or Bella’s profiles, too. That includes being mysteriously AWOL during Gigi’s big denim birthday bash on April 22.
The lack of Zigi, especially on a birthday, is a bit concerning — not gonna lie about it, we’re a little stressed. The duo has, of course, broken up a few times in the past, including one super public split where they each issued statements back in March 2018. It was barely a few months before they were in each other’s arms (and Instagrams) once again, so we wouldn’t be surprised if we spot these two together soon.
Case in point: Back in early March, the 25-year-old crooner shouted out his girl on Twitter, after breaking up just a few days post-New Year’s 2019. The back and forth is age old with this duo — and it looks like this might be a case of “here we go again.”
