Get you a friend like Hailey Baldwin — she’ll defend you till the end. The model took to Instagram to side with former Fifth Harmony member Normani when an internet troll came for her over her incredible Cher Halloween costume. The 22-year-old didn’t mince words and told the rude user exactly where they could take their comment.

It all started with this response to the photo, in which the 23-year-old singer perfectly embodied one of the legend’s classic costumes from 1979. “I don’t think this is the right costume for a black girl, Cher is white and Cher was thing, Cher did a lot, you [sic] not even close to her, you black people think you own everything not fair you could’ve been Beyoncé or Rihanna or Janet [Jackson], but no, Cher. Cher is white, respect her,” one person commented, according to a screenshot.

Justin Bieber‘s wife wasn’t about to let that comment go by untouched. “There is absolutely nothing wrong with Normani dressing up as Cher for Halloween,” she replied to the user on Friday, November 1. “What do you mean by the first sentence?”

After hinting there were possible race issues at play, the blonde beauty went in on the commenter with zero regrets. “She can do it because she wants to, she is doing much better than you, you’re behind a computer complaining about a costume,” Hailey continued. “Stop being racist and get out of her page if you don’t like it. It’s 2019 and you’re still supporting the garbage of Trump.” The comments from both the user and Hailey now seem to be deleted.

On a more positive note, that commenter was the only one with negative things to say. Fans and followers, as well as Normani’s celeb friends, flocked to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on the bombshell costume. “Wow,” Kylie Jenner wrote on the post, adding a heart-eyed emoji, too. Ariana Grande‘s photographer, Alfredo Flores, also threw a few heart-eyed emojis on the post.

At the end of the day, we’re really proud of Hailey standing up for her pal. Not saying married life is the only thing that matures you — but it’s definitely gotta help. Women supporting women, y’all!
