Tana Mongeau Gets Real About All Things Dating: Sexuality, Exes, Deal-Breakers and More
An open book! There are very few topics Tana Mongeau shies away from — and her love life isn’t one of them. “I have a young following and it’s definitely primarily female,” the popular YouTuber, 21, exclusively tells Life & Style. “I always want to empower those young girls to do whatever they want with their bodies and to make their decisions and not let anyone take that away from them, especially men.”
With that, Tana speaks openly about sexuality and past relationships, specifically her experiences with dating both men and women. “It is so, so different for me. It’s, like, polar. I think maybe that’s why I like it, too,” the MTV reality star admits. “Because when you’re bored of one, the other side is just so fun to be real.”
No matter who Tana is dating, however, the Las Vegas native does have some rules. “I think I’m definitely at a point in my life where if the connection isn’t worth giving up so much of my time and my energy and stuff like that, it’s probably not something I’m going to want to implore,” she expresses and adds that “dishonesty” is a major no-no.
As for how she handles a breakup? Well, Tana is a pretty cool customer. “I think everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, things don’t work out, great, but at the same time, I think I always say this, I’m like, ‘If you have beef with me, it is so one-sided,’” she assures. “To me, having beef with someone, especially an ex, requires energy. And I think putting that energy into something so negative is just not cute, to be frank.”
Refreshingly, Tana is a woman of her word. She and her most recent ex, Jake Paul, are very much amicable. “I think we’re both at a place where right now we feel like focusing on our friendship is what’s important,” Tana confesses. “But at the same time, the love that I have for Jake, I’ll always have.”
