Madison LeCroy on Alex Rodriguez: Jennifer Lopez Claims

Drama, drama, drama. Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy faced rumors that she slept with a married former Major League Baseball player, and some fans thought it was retired Yankees Alex Rodriguez (a.k.a. A-Rod) or Derek Jeter.

It all started on part one of Southern Charm‘s season 7 reunion, which aired in January 2021. During the episode, her costar Craig Conover called her out over an alleged affair amid the coronavirus pandemic. “You were flying around the country sleeping with men, married men. Ex-MLB players,” he claimed. “That’s what you were doing during quarantine.”

The Bravo star also brought Madison’s ex, Austen Kroll, into the conversation. “You know why Austen was at my house?” Craig added. “[Because] you weren’t talking to him! You flew to Miami to f—k an ex-MLB player.”

Austen, who was also part of the reunion episode, called Craig’s accusations “the goddamn truth,” however, Madison fiercely denied his statements. “Give me a name! Put me on a lie detector test,” the hairstylist responded on the episode. “I never flew to Miami. Where’s the record of that? That’s fake.”

Both Craig and Austen then claimed Madison had previously showed them private messages from the athlete, whose name was censored during the reunion. “He contacted me and, yes, we DM’d, but other than that, there was nothing,” Madison elaborated. “I’ve never physically seen him, touched him.”

Her former flame added that she FaceTimes the A-list baseball star “all the time” despite her claim she only messaged him.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that A-Rod “liked” a few of Madison’s Instagram photos in the past.

Madison and A-Rod were also both in New York City on December 11, 2020, and both posted Instagram photos in the city that day. Madison shared a snapshot laying in her bed at the Regency Hotel, while A-Rod shared a video of himself wishing fans “Happy Holidays” as it snowed around him. Because of their social media activity, fans speculated that A-Rod was the mystery man, but one identifying clue takes him out of the running: Alex wasn’t married but was engaged to ex Jennifer Lopez at the time.

The “Waiting for Tonight” songstress and the former baseball player split in mid-2021 shortly after the rumors involving Madison surfaced.

Another former MLB star whom some fans think is Madison’s alleged mystery beau is Derek. However, the athlete doesn’t have an Instagram account, so fans would not be able to trace the pair’s moves on social media. Derek is married to model Hannah Jeter (née Davis), whom he started dating in 2012.

Nearly two years later, Madison opened up about the speculation during a May 2023 interview with Austen on the “Pillows and Beer” podcast, and she made a major allegation about A-Rod.

Another Side of the Story

Despite the starlet’s sister’s claim, Madison’s costar Danni Baird alleged during the Wednesday, February 3 episode of the “Reality Life” podcast that “months before” the reunion episode aired, Madison told her “they were FaceTiming or something.” She added, “I just assumed — I just never asked more about it, or anything like that, so I just kind of forgot about it.”

Subtle Response?

Besides deleting social media “likes,” A-Rod has not publicly responded to the drama. However, his last two Instagram posts are centered around his love for his fiancée. He gushed over her career on February 3 with a compilation video showing the artist rehearsing and performing over the last year. The athlete later shared another clip of the two looking happy while driving in a car together.

Madison Spills the Tea

The Bravo star told Page Six on February 3 she was never “physical” with A-Rod but said they had “spoken” on the phone “randomly, but not [consistently].”

“He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me,” Madison told the outlet. She said their talks were “innocent” and the former MLB player is just an “acquaintance.”

Kristin Reacts … or Does She?

Fans thought Kristin Cavallari was responding to the situation when she posted a workout video that had a J.Lo song playing in the background. However, the Uncommon James founder made it perfectly clear that wasn’t the case.

“Can everyone stop trying to drag me into this drama mess, please?” the Laguna Beach alum wrote via her Instagram Story on February 4. “It has nothing to do with me, and I want NO part of it.”

‘Side Chick’?

While speaking with Austen on the “Pillows and Beer” podcast in May 2023, Madison alleged that Alex was seeking another relationship during his engagement to J. Lo.

“I’m being f—king catfished. There’s no way the dude who’s dating J.Lo is not in my DMs right now,” she said to Austen. “I said if you’re looking for a side chick, which clearly he was, it wasn’t going to be me. I’m wifey material.”

However, a rep for Alex shut down Madison’s claims in a statement to Page Six shortly after the podcast episode dropped.

“Her 15 minutes of fame are up, and she is trying to get a 16th minute,” the rep told the outlet. “Please stop wasting everyone’s time with these false narratives. They were false two years ago and continue to be false.”
