Fashion fatigue? The 2023 Emmy Awards on Monday, January 15, mark the third major awards ceremony in one week, meaning stars have to really step up their game and get creative when it came to red carpet style.

With the Golden Globes going down one week prior and the Critics Choice Awards happening on the evening before the Emmys, celebrities have to do some careful planning to make sure their outfits looked fresh and stylish, not to mention the they didn’t resemble anything others wore to the previous events, making for a unique collection of best and worst dressed stars.

The Emmys were supposed to take place in September 2023, but the ceremony was moved to January 2024 due to the Writer’s Guild strike. Max’s Succession leads the way with 27 nominations.

The Wednesday star looked flirty and feminine in a sparkly yet sheer dress with floral and vine appliques and boning to create full skirt.

Keri Russell — Worst

For a fashion magazine layout this gown might be a winner, but for walking a red carpet, the heavy billowing backside completely swallowed The Diplomat star’s silhouette.

The Succession star looked like a billion dollars in this bright red gown with layers of fabric making up her full skirt. The very blingy diamond necklace was the perfect accessory.

Ellen Pompeo — Best

The Grey’s Anatomy vet has had some really questionable red carpet looks over the years, but this sheer glittery top with a white collar and black bow matching her slim-fitting skirt was a total winner.

Kathryn Hahn — Worst

This sheer collared top and black skirt was in a similar vein to what Ellen Pompeo knocked out of the park, but Kathryn’s look appeared more frumpy and poor fitting.

Her sequined turquoise collared sleeveless top with black lace accents didn’t match her heavy black skirt.

The Atlanta alum is known for his incredible style, and it showed in this black velvet jacket and pants with embroidered floral details.

The cut of the dress appeared wide, and the whole look seemed a little on the casual side.

Once again, The White Lotus Emmy winner went with a black gown, this time with sheer and lace elements which highlighted her trim waistline.

The White Lotus alum’s huge square top completely overwhelmed her tiny frame, and the pale yellow color did nothing for Aubrey’s skin tone.

The former Top Chef host is so stunning, but chartreuse is a color that looks good on no one, and the belt had an ill-fitting effect, sitting too low on her waistline. Padma has had far more impressive red carpet moments.

The Top Chef judge kept the velvet trend alive, standing out from the crowd in a bright red jacket with a black bowtie and trousers.
