Finally! Bachelor couple Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham announced the happy news that baby No. 1 was born on May 29, and hours later, they’ve finally revealed their sweet little’s girls name — Alessi Ren Luyendyk! We knew it was going to be something unique, but we’re still pleasantly surprised by the meaningful moniker.

Lauren took to Instagram to share the name they finally decided to go with, writing, “Alessi Ren Luyendyk. Born May 29, 2019 @ 2:09pm. 6 lbs, 13 oz. 20 inches long. She is sweet, calm and @ariejr and I could not be more in love with her.💗”

The name perfectly suits the tiny sweetheart. Though Alessi has been more commonly known as a last name — with roots that can be either Italian or Polish — the name Ren actually means “lotus,” like the beautiful flower.

The loving duo teased their little girl’s name a couple of months before she was born. “It was a name we kind of tweaked into something unique,” the 27-year-old told Entertainment Tonight in an interview. “We don’t really know anybody who’s named that.”

Of course, the couple has been gushing about the fact that they were having a girl for months, but Lauren still gave some surprising insight into what they might name a boy in the future. “If your baby was a boy would he have been named Arie as well?” a fan asked during an Instagram Q&A one month before their baby girl came. Fair question, since Arie is a junior. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be an Arie Luyendyk III. “He’d be lucky to be named after this cutie,” wrote Lauren alongside a pic of her man, 37. “But, no. We want our babies to have names all their own.”

While Lauren and Arie’s baby was born happy and healthy, it wasn’t the easiest road to get there. Even a week before giving birth, Lauren was still super nervous because the baby was in the breech position with her legs facing down. Luckily, doctors were able to flip the baby inside Lauren’s belly, and it was a total success (despite Arie’s panic). We’re so happy for this little family and we can’t wait to watch their sweet girl grow!
