Does Kanye West Have Siblings? Here’s Why the Rapper’s Cousins Were on ‘Family Feud’
ICYMI, the new season of Celebrity Family Feud kicked off this Sunday with the Kardashian clan — and it was a fierce battle to the finish line! The Kar-Jenners battled it out against the Wests, but there were a few unfamiliar faces in the Wests’ lineup. Aside from Kim and Kanye, three other famous family members joined their squad: Yeezy’s cousins. Hmm… does this mean Kanye doesn’t have siblings? Turns out, he’s an only child!
The 41-year-old rapper does, however, have step-siblings. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like they’re on the best terms. Back in 2015, Aliya Jones said she wouldn’t be surprised if her bro cheated on his wife. “A lot of people cheat, and it is much easier for him to cheat than anyone else,” she told Heat magazine. “If you’re Kanye West and you’ve got women throwing themselves at you everywhere you go, there’s going to be temptations to stray.”
Aliya, who is the daughter of Kanye’s father’s second wife, also implied that the mother-of-three would need to maintain her appearance “[We] just hope she has good surgeons — obviously, she can afford the best,” she told Radar Online that same year. “I pray for them both. It’s going to be a lot of work.” WTF?
Meanwhile, Ye’s step-brother, Hal Carmichael, once spoke out about the star’s mental health. “No one thought Paris would happen in a million years, and now he’s seen it happen to Kim,” he told The Sun in 2016. “It’s traumatizing.” He added, “Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed. It’s like, who can he trust? You can’t trust anyone, even the people you’ve been paying to protect you. They haven’t been doing their jobs correctly. I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family’s safety because of what went down in Paris — I think it took a toll on him. He ends up walking about worrying and thinking, ‘Who’s going to do what to me?'”
Hal hasn’t seen his brother since 2014, but Kanye is close to Carmichael mom, Cheryl, who was married to Ye’s father, Ray West. Cheryl even attended his wedding to Kim.
“It was so shocking when I found out he was in hospital but I knew in my stomach why — he’s mentally exhausted because he works so hard,” his bro said. “Since he started out in the business he has never taken a break or stopped working. He’s lost it right now because he’s only human.”
