Fans Praise Model Iskra Lawrence for ‘Keeping It Real’ on Instagram: ‘You’re Such an Inspiration’
We stan an honest queen. On Monday, April 1, Iskra Lawrence took to Instagram to share two new selfies. “What makes the ‘Gram vs. What doesn’t,” the model, 28, captioned the drastically different snapshots, along with powerful hashtags like “I don’t wake up like this,” “F your Facetune,” and “Don’t get trapped thinking it’s real life.”
The first photo definitely ~works~ all of Iskra’s angles, while the second selfie, well … doesn’t. To be fair, she’s beautiful no matter what, but it’s clear that she’s trying to send an important message that what you see on social media isn’t reality.
Naturally, Iskra’s 4.4 million followers responded positively to the post. “I love you so much! You’re such an inspiration and so beautiful,” one user commented. “Yas, queen! Thank you for always keeping it real,” added another. Even fellow body positive advocate Demi Lovato wrote, “gorgeous girl.”
Agreed, agreed and agreed! Of course, this is hardly the first time that Iskra promoted self-love on social media. In fact, at this point, she could write a book on the subject. Don’t believe us? She’s said a handful of amazing quotes, like this one: “Speak to your body in a loving way. It’s the only one you’ve got, it’s your home, and it deserves your respect.”
Ummm, can someone put that on an inspirational poster immediately, please? Or how about this one? “Pick out five things that you love about your body for what it does for you, because we want to change that discussion. It’s not just what your body looks like. Your body is an incredible thing.”
What a beautiful sentiment from a beautiful woman! In conclusion, if you’re looking for a little pick-me-up when scrolling through Instagram, go ahead and give Iskra a follow. It’s worth it, we promise.
