If you’re wondering what Kourtney Kardashian’s go-to diet is, look no further. The 41-year-old strongly believes in keto, and on June 29, she announced she’s returning to the low-carb, high-fat lifestyle after taking a break during the coronavirus quarantine.

“Keto starts today,” the Poosh.com founder captioned a photo of a salad with turkey, cheese and avocado. In the past, Kourtney has explained why she prefers the keto diet.

“My body never looked better than when I did the keto diet two and half years ago, when I did it for two months,” she wrote in a June 2019 Poosh.com blog post.

“In my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet,” Kourtney continued. “‘Keto'” is short for ‘ketosis,’ a metabolic state that happens when your body switches from burning carbs to burning fat.”

Let’s not forget Kourt has years of experience, as well as the help from professionals, so before making a drastic change, it’s best to consult a doctor first to see what foods work best for you. That being said, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star keeps it pretty simple.

“My plan this time is to eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes. I’m focusing my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins. I eat three meals a day with no snacking in between if possible,” she wrote.

For breakfast, she’ll have an avocado smoothie. Then for lunch, she’ll eat a “protein-based chef salad with turkey, a base of mixed greens and egg whites.” Finally, for dinner, Kourt will “usually eat chicken or salmon,” adding that she enjoys “getting creative to substitute carbs.”

“I make cauliflower rice or broccoli rice because even though they’re made entirely from shredded veggies, they kind of trick my brain and make me feel like I’m eating some carbs,” Kourtney said. “I remember last time being able to eat a small amount of sweet potato once in a while.”

The California native is so dedicated to eating accordingly that she doesn’t really indulge under keto and substitutes green tea or bone broth as snacks. That’s dedication right there!
