Meet Travis Kelce’s Childhood Friend Group and Support System

Travis Kelce has reached ~new heights~ in his NFL career and a close-knit friend group has championed him along the way. When the Kansas City Chiefs tight end makes plays on the field, he almost always has his rowdy support system cheering him on in the booth suites.

Aric Jones, for example, is one of Travis’ childhood friends and they have even lived and worked together in the past. “It’s really easy to be yourself when you’ve got the people you grew up with around all the time,” Travis said of Aric during a July 2023 Vanity Fair interview.

Other friends, like former teammate Ross Travis, have jet-setted around the world to accompany Travis in supporting girlfriend Taylor Swift’s international Era tour.

Ross Travis … and Travis were teammates when Ross signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad in 2015. He was a free agent at the time and made his exit from the franchise two years later.

Ross no longer plays in the NFL, but he still spends quite some time in the Arrowhead stadium cheering Travis on at home games.

In February 2024, Travis arrived in Australia to attend girlfriend Taylor’s concert and Ross joined in on the fun!

Aric Jones

The pair grew up in Ohio and they became unofficial brothers over time. When Travis made a name for himself in the NFL, he brought Aric along for the journey after he opened up his new home to him.

“I was just like, ‘Are you sure this is cool? I don’t want to be a burden on you,’” Aric told Vanity Fair in 2023. “He just sent me a picture of a bedroom and said, ‘Here’s your room. It’s waiting for you.’”

Yeah, they’re brothers but these two would ride for each other until the wheels fall off. Fans get a glimpse into the beloved NFL siblings’ dynamic during their weekly “New Heights” podcast where they also reflect on their upbringing. Not to mention, Jason deemed his brother as “the perfect uncle” to nieces Wyatt Elizabeth, Elliotte Ray and Bennett Llewellyn.

“I know we give him crap. We will not leave him alone with them. They’re too young. But Travis just has such a zest and virality for life,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center told E! News in September 2023. ”My daughters, they’re so drawn to him immediately — partly because he’s gorgeous, but then also he’s just a fun human being. He’s exciting. He has energy for days.”

Kumar Ferguson

Kumar Ferguson also grew up with Travis and the pair reconnected in 2016 when the professional athlete wanted to hone in on his nutrition.

“[Kelce’s] like, ‘Hey, man, I want to take my diet seriously,’” Kumar told Startland News in September 2023. “‘You want to come out to KC and help me out with that? Whatever you want to do, I’ll help you, and we just kind of support each other.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’”

Kumar is still Travis’ personal chef as of publication.

Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chief quarterback and Travis depend on each other on and off the field. Patrick opened up about his friendship with Travis in November 2023 and admitted that he considers his teammate his “brother.”

“His family and my family have almost become one family because of the relationship that we have and how we’ve kind of became these brothers on the football field,” Patrick told ESPN at the time.
