Surprise! Mindy Kaling is reportedly pregnant with her first child — and we can't contain our excitement.

The Mindy Project star is not currently dating anyone, and according to E! News, the pregnancy is an "unexpected surprise" for the comedienne. However, fans of her Hulu series have nothing to worry about as there are no planned changes to her production schedule.

While we have to wait to see who the baby daddy is, Mindy, 38, has always been very open about wanting kids. On her hit show, the brunette beauty portrays a single mom who juggles her career, parenthood, and dating, so art may soon be imitating reality for Mindy.

"I think I've decided that unlike everything else in my life, I'm going to be fast and loose about kids," she told Yahoo! Style last year. "I'm going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen."

Mindy does have a "complicated" relationship with her The Office co-star B.J. Novak, whom she dated from 2005-2007, prompting many fans on Twitter to assume he could be the father. The duo is also currently working on a book together, adding to the speculation.

“The gift he has given me is the utter and total belief that I am one of the greats,” she told The Guardian of B.J. “And, it is an intoxicating feeling.” In her book she wrote of her ex, "Soul mates' is what you aim for, but soup snakes is what you get sometimes."

And B.J. feels the same way. "It is a fantastic relationship with a lot of shorthand. I feel so lucky that I get a brilliant text from Mindy Kaling, like, once an hour. It’s like something you’d win at an auction — Mindy Kaling will blow up your phone," he has previously said.
