There's weight loss and then there's weight loss. The stars of My 600-lb Life know better than most how difficult shedding the pounds can be for those with food addictions. And they are opening up about life after their life-changing transformations.

Take Doug Armstrong, who appeared on the TLC series weighing 684. Today, the father-of-three is down 222 pounds so far but admits he still struggles on a daily basis with staying on track. On the show, Doug sought therapy to get to the root of his overeating and learned it was his strained relationship with his mother and troubled childhood that led him to use food as a coping mechanism. But he persevered and used his family as motivation to stay healthy.

"If I don’t make these changes that I need to make, what kind of relationship am I gonna have with my children?” Doug said at the time. “I’ve gotta do something so I can be around for these kids. I have to change now.”
