She’s ready to show the world. Paris Hilton spoke out about her new documentary, This Is Paris, and how the upcoming look at her personal life will show her shedding what people have come to know as her legendary “persona.”

“It is 2020, and I am finally … even during this film, I have discovered so much about myself that I did not even know,” the 38-year-old explained at the Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour for This Is Paris on YouTube. “It was almost like a therapeutic experience.”

She also attributed her willingness to peel back the curtain to her director, Alexandra Dean. “Especially working with Alex, who is such an amazing director and I felt like we became so close that it was like talking to my sister,” she revealed. “So I really just felt so comfortable to talk about everything, even in very uncomfortable moments. So, my old persona, that was who I was before when I started my brand. But now I want to show the true boss babe that I am.”

Plus, the blonde beauty definitely gets how ~persona~ plays into having a vibrant life on apps like Instagram. “I think it depends on who it is, but with social media, I think that people always love to show the happy, perfect side. It is not always like that,” Paris noted. “I think most people just want to show the good moments. And then there is other people who show everything. So it really depends on the person.”

“But I think a lot of people are playing a character when they are doing this on social media,” she continued. “Everyone is building a brand on their own and doing something different. I think on social media you do not really see the true people most of the time.”

At the end of the day, she’s excited for this new version of herself to be unleashed onto the world. “I am very… this is the most private thing I have ever done in my life,” she gushed. “So I am very nervous, but also very excited for my legacy, and for what I want to be remembered for, it is not the character I was playing before, it is who I truly am. And I think that the whole world is going to see that there is a lot more to me than they think.”

We can’t wait to see when the doc releases in May!
