Sofia Richie Shares Scary Video as Fire Blazes Through Pacific Palisades: ‘Oh No!’
For those of you who don’t live on the West Coast, you may be unaware that there’s a fire currently consuming over 40 acres of a popular neighborhood in L.A. called Pacific Palisades. Unfortunately for Sofia Richie, however, she’s all too aware of the threatening natural disaster.
On Monday, October 21, Scott Disick’s ladylove, 21, took to her Instagram Story to share a scary video of smoke rising from a hillside in the distance. Based on Sofia’s clip, it appeared as though she was driving across from Webb Way in Malibu.
Sadly, this is hardly the first time that California has been affected by a major fire in the last year. In November 2018, several A-listers, including Miley Cyrus and her then-husband Liam Hemsworth, lost their homes during the Woolsey Fire.
Despite ending their marriage months later, the “Slide Away” singer, 26, said that Liam, 29, was incredibly brave during the tragic ordeal. “I call him my survival partner now. He thinks it’s not romantic, but I learned that is why you pair up with someone — for survival — and he was so incredible,” Miley gushed at the time.
“He got all the animals out in his truck … he put two pigs in crates. I said, ‘How did you get them out?’ and he said the only thing he could do was get a really powerful hose and sprayed them in the ass,” she continued. “So, he just chased the pigs into the crate, which was genius.”

Beyond the former couple’s home, the infamous Bachelor Mansion was also compromised. “Pray for Malibu — and #TheBachelorMansion,” the show’s creator, Mike Fleiss, tweeted, while ABC Reality Chief, Rob Mills, echoed, “Thinking of the people of Malibu and yes #TheBachelorMansion is in grave danger as well.” As we now know, the mansion survived the fire and still stands today.
Here’s hoping firefighters from the esteemed LAFD are able to contain the Pacific Palisades fire as quickly and safely as possible. According to current reports, two civilians have already been injured.
