The Oscar winner was extremely nervous filming her first nude scene in 2018’s spy thriller Red Sparrow, but changed her tune when it came to the 2023 raunchy R-rated comedy No Hard Feelings, where her character Maddie goes fully nude on a beach.

“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’” Jennifer told Variety while promoting the film. “I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.” She added that the scene took a day to shoot and included “a lot of rehearsal.”

The actress has stripped down for her role on HBO’s Euphoria, and wishes women were treated differently than their male counterparts when it comes to being naked on screen.

“When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different,” she told the U.K’s The Independent in January 2022.

“I’m very proud of my work in Euphoria. I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked. I do The White Lotus and all of a sudden critics are paying attention. People are loving me. They’re going, ‘Oh my God, what’s she doing next?’ I was like, ‘Did you not see that in Euphoria? Did you not see that in The Handmaid’s Tale?”

Few male movies stars have done as many nude scenes as the Scottish actor, who has shown his manhood in Trainspotting, The Pillow Book, Velvet Goldmine and Young Adam to name a few. Ewan is even perfectly fine sitting around the set naked in between takes.

He told Out magazine in 2011 about his bisexual character in The Pillow Book, “There’s tons of sex in that film. We didn’t even bother putting clothes on between scenes,” adding, “I had quite a full-on sex scene with a 75-year-old Japanese guy. We’re kissing, and I remember going, ‘He’s got a mustache and that’s kind of weird. Oh! That’s definitely a scrotum. That’s odd.'”

I don’t have issues being naked … That sounds very slutty,” Charlize joked to W magazine in 2011 while promoting the film Prometheus. “What I mean is, I’m not hung up on my body, and I’ve been lucky to work with people I’ve been really comfortable with.”

The Oscar nominee said her nude scenes in 2017’s Lady MacBeth “changed everything” for her. “I loved the fact she was naked all the time. At that point in my life, I had been made to feel s–t about what I looked like, and that film was perfect. There was no room for me to feel insecure,” she told Britain’s ES magazine. Florence also reportedly has “prolonged” nudity and sex scenes with costar Cillian Murphy in the upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed Oppenheimer.

From Titanic to Mare of Easttown, Kate has never been afraid to go nude for the characters she plays. In fact, she decided to hold back on doing more for fear that audiences were getting tired of her taking her stripping down for projects.

“I’m just not that comfortable doing it anymore. It’s not even really an age thing, actually,” she told The New York Times in June 2021. “There comes a point where people are going to go, ‘Oh, here she goes again.’”
