If you need some weight loss inspiration for the new year, look no further than Christine Carter. The Texas native is motivating her followers with her impressive 175-pound weight loss — and she has kept it off for two years and counting.

In 2014, Christine recalls weighing almost 300 pounds and having to introduce herself to aunts and uncles are her family reunion because her weight gain made her completely unrecognizable. It was at that moment that she decided to turn her life around and get healthy. “I had eaten myself to a state of unrecognition. It was mortifying. I didn’t know how I would do it… I just knew that I would NEVER feel that way again,” she told Life & Style exclusively. Watch the video below to see her complete transformation!

Christine underwent weight loss surgery and quickly learned it was not an easy fix. While she initially lost 60 pounds, she gained it right back and realized that weight loss is only possible when you get the right mindset. “I got my head right. I started training in the gym with my coach and followed a ketogenic diet. It was very hard,” she explained. “Mentally harder than physically. Food addiction is no joke. Binge eating disorder is no joke. But day by day I got better and stronger… and that success spilled into all areas of my life.”

Today, the 29-year-old has turned her weight loss into a business, Weight Loss Hero Tribe, and has clients in 48 states and 11 countries. “Embarking on this journey was the best thing I have ever done, and I would do it 1000 times over,” she added. “My advice for someone struggling is this: always focus on designing your best life. And when you struggle… always ask yourself where your focus is: is it on what you want now, or what you want most. That always kept me on track.”

And the best part: she still has to introduce herself at the family reunion because of the weight loss. “The irony is not lost on me.” Get it, girl!
