When popstar and addiction survivor Demi Lovato relapsed over the summer, pretty much the whole world freaked out. People immediately took to Twitter to flood the social media site with messages of support and love for the singer. No one was more worried, though, than Wilmer Valderrama. The singer’s ex rushed to Demi’s side after she suffered a near-fatal overdose in July — and he hasn’t left it since.

Over the last few months, the 38-year-old actor has made several trips to an undisclosed in-patient rehabilitation center where the pop star, 26, is currently receiving treatment, a source exclusively reveals. “Demi practically burst into tears when Wilmer offered to fly out,” the source tells Life & Style. It’s his support that’s been helping her get back on track — just like he’s helped her to do in the past.

Though the couple split in 2016, the “Sober” singer has long credited the That ’70s Show alum with saving her life during her struggles with bipolar disorder and an eating disorder. “I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for this man right here,” she wrote on Instagram in March 2015 while celebrating the fact that she was officially three years sober. “After sharing my ups, putting up with my downs and supporting my recovery… he still never takes credit.” She said more of the same during a HuffPost Live video a few weeks later. “I guarantee I wouldn’t be alive without him today,” she insisted.

“Wilmer still loves Demi and will do anything to help her get through this,” the source continues. “She’s still got a long way to go, but he’s given her the confidence and strength to overcome her demons.” And maybe one day, the two will reunite. According to sources, they’ve even discussed getting back together — but only once Demi’s fully clean and sober.

But Wilmer isn’t the only one on her side. The popstar also has her little sister’s full support while she gets back on her feet at rehab. “Demi’s doing, she’s doing really well,” Madison De La Garza shared on the “Millennial Hollywood with Dakota T. Jones” show. “She’s working really hard on her sobriety and we’re all so incredibly proud of her… If you read my mom’s book you would know… Every time we go through something, we always come out on the other side a hundred times stronger than before.”

We’re just hoping that Demi gets healthy and, like Madison said, comes back a hundred times as strong as she ever was and ready to start racking up sober milestones again. There’s no question it’s hard starting all over again after a relapse, but if anyone can do it, it’s the “Confident” singer.
