Fitness influencer Kayla Itsines gave birth just a few weeks ago and she’s already getting very real about her post-baby body. The brunette beauty took to Instagram to share an intimate photo along with a few sentiments she’s learned along the way.
“If I am honest, it is with great trepidation that I share with you this very personal image,” the 27-year-old began her lengthy caption on the side-by-side photos. One showed the last snap that was taken before she gave birth and the other was taken one week after her baby arrived. “Every woman’s journey through life but especially pregnancy, birth and healing post-birth is unique.”
The BBG founder used her platform to explain that no new mom should compare herself to others because every body is different. “While each journey has a common thread that connects us as women, our personal experience, our relationship with ourselves and our body will always be our own,” she said.
“For me, regardless of how my body healed post-birth, I felt it was really important for me personally to embrace, appreciate and celebrate my body the same way that I tell all the women in this community to celebrate their body,” the fitness junkie continued.
Giving birth is a huge thing for a woman’s body to undergo and it takes a long time to feel like yourself again. However, Kayla is trying to stay positive and be grateful for her strength. She noted, “For me right now, I celebrate my body for all it has been through and the absolute joy it has brought into my life with Arna.”
Kayla and her fiancée, Tobi Pearce, announced the birth of her first child, Arna Leia Pearce, on April 29. The new parents are thrilled and the trainer gushed that having their baby girl “made me love [Tobi] even MORE.” So sweet!
Now, the newly minted mama wants to keep working to make everyone feel good in their skin. She divulged in her post, “As a personal trainer, all I can hope for you ladies is that you feel encouraged to do the same regardless of whether you have just given birth or not, celebrate your body and the gift that it is.”
