It’s been just over a week since former Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise star Amanda Stanton was arrested on misdemeanor domestic violence charges after shoving her boyfriend Bobby Jacobs in Las Vegas, and she’s finally ready to open up about it, including the donation she made in an attempt to make up for her behavior.

“The last thing I want is for it to come across like I am sweeping things under the rug,” she wrote in an Instagram Story on Sept. 21. Many fans had been shading her for posting product ads on her feed to make money without addressing her arrest. “I believe there’s a time and a place to talk about things, and I hope you all can continue to be understanding and trust my intentions.”

“These are issues I take very seriously,” she continued. “I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t use this as an opportunity to do something positive with my platform.” She went on to explain that she donated $300 to a domestic violence shelter called Laura’s House in Orange County, CA, and she encouraged her fans to donate what they can as well.

Her boyfriend may have been a little less wholesome with his response. Bobby took to his Instagram comments on Sept. 20 to defend his girlfriend against haters. When one fan said, “apparently not mad about getting a whooping from your girl,” Bobby responded, “Who says I’m not into that?” “If you were into it you wouldn’t have called the cops,” said another. Bobby clapped back, insisting, “I never did.”

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Amanda and Bobby were in Las Vegas while Amanda was celebrating a friend’s bachelorette party a few weeks ago. Bobby claimed that Amanda was intoxicated when she entered his room at The Wynn hotel around 11 p.m., and she was upset because he had not responded to her texts or calls. Bobby claimed Amanda started to hit him while he was laying in bed.

The couple argued until Bobby called Amanda’s friends into their room and they left after they believed Amanda fell asleep. Once they left, the couple started to fight again and at one point, Amanda allegedly threw a hotel phone at him, hitting him with it. He claimed that she tried to kick him but she fell, and he held her down while she “scratched and pinched” him. He was able to call her friends back into the room, and then the hotel security was notified. While Bobby talked to security, Amanda, who was seemingly intoxicated, tried to step in and ended up shoving Bobby, leading security to call the police for backup.

“On 09-10-18 at approximately 3:15 a.m. police responded to a Battery Domestic Violence call at a Hotel 3100 block of S Las Vegas Blvd,” LVPD told Life & Style. “A physical altercation took place in a hotel room where it is alleged that Stanton battered her boyfriend. Hotel security was notified and police were called. Through the course of the investigation, it was found that there was probable cause to arrested Stanton on one count of Battery Domestic Violence. She was transported to CCDC and booked accordingly.”

As news broke of the arrest, Amanda took to Instagram Stories to prove that everything is okay, including her relationship with Bobby. The duo could be seen cuddling on a plane in the snapshot.

Amanda was allegedly released on the morning of Sept. 10, and both she and her man are convinced that she was more than just drunk. They reportedly believe someone may have slipped something into her beverage, leading to the uncharacteristic behavior, and she released a statement via her rep.

“Amanda continues to be embarrassed by her behavior and greatly regrets the incident ever occurred,” read the statement, which was obtained by Us Weekly. “She apologizes to everyone for the trouble she has caused and is very grateful for Bobby’s love and support.”
