Women supporting women! Cara Delevingne praised Taylor Swift after she announced that she would be re-recording her previous albums. The surprising news comes on the heels of the “Archer” artist’s harsh criticism of Scooter Braun buying her former record label, Scott Borchetta‘s Big Machine Label Group. The model — who has previously spoken out in support of the pop star — applauded her pal for taking a stand and paving her own way.

“She’s one of those women who [is] just relentless, endless fire,” the 27-year-old actress gushed to ET on August 21 during the premiere of Carnival Row in Hollywood. “[She’s] not biting to draw blood, but biting when you need to bite. You need to stand up for yourself … you’re defending yourself and being who you are and that’s what I love about her.”

On June 30, the “Lover” singer released a lengthy message on her Tumblr that detailed her outrage and frustration over the sale of her former record label. “For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead, I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and ‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in. I walked away because I knew once I signed the contract, Scott Borchetta, would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future,” she wrote.

Taylor explained that she learned of Scooter’s purchase of her masters with the rest of the world. The Hollywood heavy-hitter also manages Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande. “All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years,” the “Out of the Woods” singer claimed. Her decision to re-record her work — which was also suggested by Kelly Clarkson on Twitter — was announced during a teaser for an upcoming episode of CBS Sunday Morning.

Cara agrees with the singer taking back her songs. “That’s what I’ll always respect about her, that innate strength and wisdom,” she noted to ET. “If you’re an artist and you make things, it’s yours at the end of the day, so own it.”
