It seems like the ultimate celebrity accessory is a large cup of coffee. Whether they take it iced or hot, odds are, when we see our favorite celebs out and about, they have a coffee cup in hand.

For many of us, coffee acts as a “common denominator” whether it’s how we relate to our favorite celebs or if you use your sips as an ice-breaker at work, according to Steven Rea, author of Hollywood Cafe: Coffee With the Stars. The author told the Washington Post that coffee has “always been a part of the fabric of the Hollywood scene.” He added, “It became a Hollywood habit, mostly in good ways. you’re going to have an addiction, coffee is one where the downsides aren’t that bad.”

One of the many upsides to coffee is that research shows the more you drink, the longer you may live. “Coffee is loaded with antioxidants. Many are naturally occurring antioxidants found in the coffee bean, while others are created during the roasting process. It’s these compounds that science links with positive effects in reducing the risk of several diseases,” said Joe DeRupo, a spokesman for the National Coffee Association.

Hot A-listers like Heidi Klum insist that they need their daily dose of caffeine to accomplish all that they do. “We busy ladies need our coffee fix in the morning. My day doesn’t really start until I’ve had my Starbucks latte,” she told SHAPE.
