Welcome to 2018: a time when Kylie Jenner is a mom and Jaden Smith is one of Time magazine’s “most influential teens.” The 19-year-old singer sat down with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Feb. 21 during the Today show to discuss his latest ~achievements~. Meanwhile, we can’t help but remember the time when Jaden and Kylie were the hottest couple. We’re not saying that if things had gone a little differently than Jaden would be Ky’s baby daddy instead of Travis Scott… but, if things had gone a little different Jaden would be Ky’s baby daddy instead of Travis Scott. LOL — let’s reminisce, shall we?

The then-children must have shared a pretty special bond because two years later the singer was rumored to be the cause of Ky’s split with her former on-again, off-again boyfriend, Tyga. “Kylie and Jaden have been hanging out lately and it made Tyga suspicious. He thought something might be going on. So that was one issue,” a source told E! News in 2015 after the exes split. But, another source told the site that Jaden and Kylie were totally just friends. “She has a close relationship with Jaden since they were very young but nothing romantic has happened with them since she has been with Tyga. Jaden though will always love Kylie and Kylie will always have a love for Jaden. They grew up together and were each others’ first loves.”

First loves?! These two definitely had an intense connection. And since Kylie has gone on the record saying that she’s always wanted to be a young mom… she 100% pictured Jaden being her baby daddy at least once. Probably like 1930483 times.

But, we guess the universe had other plans because Ky is now mama to little Stormi Webster with the “Butterfly Effect” rapper. We’re happy for the 20-year-old star, but that doesn’t mean a little part of us still wonders what could have been between Jay and Ky. After all, you never forget your first.
