Meghan King Edmonds Reveals Her Son’s Devastating Brain Damage Diagnosis
Our hearts are with the entire family. Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King Edmonds took to her blog to reveal her son’s heartbreaking brain damage diagnosis on July 4.
“Hart has irreversible brain damage, it’s called PVL,” the 34-year-old wrote, also revealing that the one-year-old is “at risk for being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and will be monitored.”
The mother of three explained she had seen multiple doctors over time to attempt to diagnose her son’s ailment, but she always had a hunch about what was wrong. “Well, I knew. I always knew. I just knew …” the former reality star continued in her post.
Meghan explained that she took her son for an “elective MRI with anesthesia” just eight days after she learned that her husband, Jim Edmonds, was cheating on her. She viscerally wrote about the painful process, even revealing she “blankly stared at the cars on the highway” as while waiting for results with her husband.
She even admitted to crying over the two big events simultaneously. “Those tears were for a lot of things, but mostly the unknown and mostly Hart,” she wrote.
Meghan expressed how positively she feels toward Hart’s diagnosis and discussed how “grateful” she is with her husband after the couple went to dinner together for “the first time in weeks.” She said she feels being Hart’s mother is “a gift.”
“I explained to Jimmy how we are not somehow compromised or punished for having a child with special needs (whatever that may or may not mean!), we are BLESSED,” she wrote about their dinner together, but also added she is still praying “for a miracle” as she learns what it takes to “navigate his life.”
The heartbreaking news comes after the bombshell news that Jim, 48, allegedly sent lewd text messages to a woman who is known as a “mistress” in the major league baseball community back in early June.
