No many how many quirks a contestant on _ The Bachelor_ can fit into their bio, the truth is that there's a certain uniform style that every one of those blonde, size 2 "fitness instructors" tend to share. And that's not just because the beauty standards in the Bachelor Nation franchise are high and incredibly narrow-minded. It's because the women go all out before joining the show, making sure they'll look camera-ready as they catfight their way to someone's heart. We're talking workout classes, summery highlights and…eyelash extensions? WTF? So if you plan on throwing down for that final rose and want to look your best, make sure to have this checklist at the ready. Below, a rundown of what you need to look like a Bachelor contestant.

ABC
Contouring Skills
One of the most requested makeup trends on the set of The Bachelor is contouring, and plenty of the girls request to go full Kim Kardashian the first night. But what happens when you're left to your own devices after that initial rose ceremony? You have to do your own makeup like a peasant.
And if YouTube tutorials aren't doing the trick, you may need to bring in an expert before you get in front of the camera.
"I've never been that great at doing makeup, so I had a professional makeup artist come to my house to teach me how to do everything and make me a list of everything I needed to buy," Season 20's villain Olivia Caridi told Allure. "She taught me how to contour. I didn't even know what that was."

Eyelash Extensions
Because we all know that a man looks for one thing in a woman, and it's full, luscious lashes (uh, probs not tho). When Ashley Iaconetti showed up to compete for Chris Soules' affections, she took her dagger-y eyelashes as a weapon. And yeah, that kind of length does not come naturally.
By the time she got to Paradise, Ashley went full-on with lash extensions. She even glued on individual falsies when the extensions started falling off thanks to the ocean air. Courtney Robertson also admitted to getting her "eyelashes permed" before the show, which sounds ridiculous and we love it. Speaking of which…

A Spray Tan
Bachelor girls love to (literally) glow up before they head to the show, and that makes sense. Gotta maintain that natural Oompa-Loompa shade while you're being jetted off to your would-be fiancé's hometown in Idaho or some s–t. Back when she was aggressively courting Ben Flajnik, Courtney was sporting a serious spray tan. Her radioactive glow was so iconic she was later offered free spraying session from (wait for it) Fake Bake. She declined, having retired the look since Ben preferred her natural. In conclusion, lol.

ABC
Flawless (Fake) Hair
We're talking hair extensions, hair weaves, hair dye, highlights, the flawlessly touseled waves of Candice Swanepool… The last part is all about inspo: the Bachelor mansion is allegedly plastered with pics of Victoria Secret angels so the girls can get styled like their favorite lingerie-clad supermodel. But before that, they're booking a bank account-emptying appointment at their salon for a full follicle make-over.
What does that entail? Well, if you're heading to Paradise you may want to rebrand with some strategic highlights. That's right, strategic highlights — ever notice how the ladies lighten up with a beachy cut when they get to the island? And for girls like Becca Tilley and JoJo Fletcher, extensions are a must. Let's face it, length is beloved at the Bachelor mansion. Unless you're combo-breaker Bekah M. with her godless pixie-cut. Stick to the status quo, Bekah.

All Manner of Hair Removal
We're talking eyebrow threading, mustache waxing, and armpit lasering. God forbid you don't landscape your entire body before getting to the mansion. And even though you can't, um, see this, bikini waxing is a big part of that too — particularly if you're headed to Paradise. Alexis "Shark Girl" Waters took great pains to make sure her body was dolphin smooth when she made a return trip to Bachelor Nation. "I got a Brazilian wax and lasered my mustache and armpits," she confessed. Geez.

A Gym Membership
And, of course, the motivation to do something beyond binge-watch a reality show over a bottle of pinot grig. It's a no from me. But yeah, because Bachelor contestants pretty much come in one size (cue aggravated sigh), the girls try to slim down before they get on camera. Bachelor veteran Jaclyn Swartz kept it simple on her first stint, but went all out when she was invited to visit Paradise. Pretty much all the boxes are checked off.
"I invested in lash extensions, a personal trainer five days a week for the eight weeks leading up to the show, dermaplaning — which I swear by — and a fresh head of blond," She shared. "I also waxed, brought way more makeup, and embraced makeup trends like contouring." All of that is legit exhausting, but the one that makes the most tired is "a personal trainer for five days a week." Honey, bless. If we had to return to a franchise three times with zero luck, it would be all ice-cream-eating on the couch.

A Drool-worthy Closet
Everybody knows that the Bachelor contestants get kind of screwed when it comes to clothes — they need tons of non-repeated amazing outfits! So it definitely helps if you already have a killer sense of style (and connections) like Bekah. When a fan asked where she got her rose ceremony looks and how much they cost, she revealed, "I did not spend a dime! Everything borrowed from friends or sample showrooms or I already owned it. One look was my aunt's corset from the 90s paired with a skirt I got from Zara for like $20."

ABC
And, Of Course, a Sephora Shopping Spree
Ulta be damned, the girls head straight to Sephora in a literal panic right before they get on the show, loading up on mascara like it's the end of times. "I remember going to Sephora with my girlfriend," JoJo told Allure. "I was just like, 'I need to stock up on everything,'—from things that I knew that I liked to things that I had never tried before—because A, you don't know how long you're going to be there for, and B, you don't have an opportunity to go to a mall when you're there."
