Baby Archie Meets Archbishop Desmond Tutu During Africa Tour With Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry

Wow! Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is just 5 months old and has already met one of the most famous religious leaders in the world Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The sweet baby is on his first royal tour to Africa with Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry and the newborn is already living his best life. The family seems to be having a blast during the philanthropic trip and we’re sure Archie is in for more extraordinary adventures.

Although the tiny royal has been spotted out with his parents quite often, he did skip out on their first stop at the District Six Museum. “He’s sleeping,” Prince Harry, 35, explained about the absence of his only child while noting that the baby boy is “not grouchy, just exhausted.” The family has been doing a lot of travel so some shut-eye is probably just what Archie needed.

The precious boy is growing up extremely fast. “At nearly five months, he’s already sitting up without any support for a few seconds, hold his toy bricks and Harry’s convinced that he can recognize himself in the mirror,” a source exclusively told Life & Style about his milestones. Harry seems so fun and doesn’t mind being goofy, which helps when he plays games with his son. “He giggles away when Harry plays Peek-a-boo with him.”

In addition to being a happy baby, the source added that “Archie rarely cries. He sleeps throughout the night.” He sounds like the perfect travel companion, TBH.

The royal family of three will be working with local organizations across four countries in Africa. “Their Royal Highnesses will embark on this official tour focusing on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV/AIDS and the environment. This program has been many months in the making, and The Duke and Duchess are eager to focus their energies on the great work being done in Southern Africa,” their joint Instagram page explained.

The whirlwind tour kicked off on September 23 and Meghan, 38, took a moment to speak candidly with the crowd in Cape Town’s Nyanga township. “On one personal note, may I just say that while I am here with my husband as a member of the royal family, I want you to know that for me, I am here as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of color and as your sister,” she told them. “I am here with you, and I am here for you.”

We can’t wait to see more from their trip. Keep scrolling for photos of Archie meeting Desmond Tutu!
