That inner turmoil of celebrity, man. Bachelor in Paradise alum Demi Burnett took to Twitter to air out some of her woes about “being in the spotlight” on January 18 — and needless to say, we totally get where the 24-year-old is coming from.

“Sometimes being in the spotlight hurts especially when you’re already hurting,” the reality starlet wrote. “I’m still a person and I have feelings and being ridiculed [f—king] sucks but I guess that’s the price I have to pay. Just wish it wasn’t like that. Or maybe I wish I didn’t care so much. Blehhhh.”

Bachelor Nation fave Mike Johnson immediately jumped to Demi’s rescue in the replies section. “Who I need to slap up on,” he asked, adding a red exclamation point emoji. “Aww, I love you Mike,” the blonde beauty replied, adding a red heart emoji. “Wish we were with each other so you could diss me and make me laugh hehe.”

The 31-year-old kept packing in the jokes. “I smell ya stank breathe from here, no need for me to be closer,” he wrote, to which Demi replied, “Hahahahahahahahaha thank [you] for making me laugh bb [sic].”

But not everyone was on the Texan’s side with this one. “Much love,” one fan replied to her post. “But you literally ridicule everyone on The Bachelor, too,” they continued, adding a crying laughing emoji. “Not with malice,” Demi replied to the follower. Another fan quipped up, “Just because you don’t think you do it with malice, doesn’t mean the person on the other side sees it that way. Just a thought, your majesty.” Surprisingly enough, the reality babe agreed. “Very true,” she wrote. “I need to be more self-aware at times.”

A lot has been going on in Demi’s life since the fall. Back in October 2019, she and her BIP costar — and later, fiancée — Kristian Haggerty announced their split. Soon after, she was rumored to be seeing Bachelor alum Nick Viall … but according to Hannah Brown, there was nothing going on there.

“Oh, no. They were just having a good time,” the DWTS winner exclusively explained to Life & Style about some photos of the rumored couple holding hands. “They’re really good friends. They’re like besties. Well, she’s my bestie. We’re besties first and then Nick is her other best friend.”

Feel better soon, girl!
