It looks like Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich might be doing better these days. According to the actress’ hairstylist Riawna Capri, who spoke to Life & Style and other reporters at the Hollywood Beauty Awards, the couple are in a good place amid their marriage issues.

“Yeah, everything’s good. They’re good. They’re both good together,” she revealed. “They’re just, you know, they love each other, it’s a good thing.”

News that the couple were having trouble in paradise first broke in early January. They “want different things in life,” a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style at the time. “They’ve had so many ups and downs, but they also have very different ways of dealing with them.” Rumors they were headed for splitsville began when Julianne, 31, was seen without her wedding ring on several occasions, in addition to not posting photos with him on social media.

Part of why they seemed to have issues had to do with a lack of communication. “Julianne is an open book,” the insider added. “Brooks was OK with that in the beginning, but it’s gotten to be too much.”

In August, the blonde beauty admitted in an interview with Women’s Health that Brooks, 36, was not aware of her sexual orientation when they first got together. In fact, he found out recently. “I [told Brooks], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,’” Julianne told the outlet. “I think there’s a safety with my husband now that I’m unpacking all of this, and there’s no fear of voicing things that I’ve been afraid to admit or that I’ve had shame or guilt about because of what I’ve been told or how I was raised.”

On January 7, Brooks candidly admitted on Instagram that he’s “stepping into a new chapter” and “being more present in his relationships.” It seems like he’s doing just that, because on January 22 he took to another Insta post and wrote, “I’m redefining my priorities, and putting happiness at the forefront. I’m making changes to my daily routine and prioritizing the things that bring me the most joy.” Good for them!
